In the height of summer a Round table on “Regulatory impact assessment” was held in Sofia, organised by the Center for Prevention and Countering Corruption and Organised Crime (BORKOR) and the Council for Administrative Reform at the Council of Ministers.
The participants were welcomed by the Secretary of the Council for Administrative Reform, Mr Anton Gerunov – Head of the Political Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and State Administration and Minister of the Interior – and by Ms Eleonora Nikolova – Acting Director of BORKOR.
The round table was one of the first high-level forums at which the challenges and prospects of the Bulgarian rule-making process were presented following the promulgation of the Law on Normative Acts, which regulates mandatory regulatory impact assessment, the assessment of specific impacts and the expectations related to its entry into force on 04.11.2016.
The Center for Regulatory Impact Assessment was represented at the event by its Chairman, Tony Dimov.
One of the most impressive presentations was that of Mr Iskren Ivanov – Chief Expert in the Administrative Modernisation Directorate of the Council of Ministers administration, who spoke about the “Impact assessment” Cause, parts of which we publish here.
